The data on these webpages 'started life' as word documents, databases and spreadsheets, compiled on various generations of Apple Mac computers over many years. It is MOST IMPORTANT to note that the accuracy of the information cannot be said to be 100% - and, as in all things in connection with Family History research one should ALWAYS 'check-it-out' with the original source document.
The reader should also note that in a FEW of the lists some of the data has been 'modernised' - in other words, place and sometimes proper names have been spelt the way a reader is more likely to find the name nowadays. For example, several place names may have had various spellings over the years and some have been 'standardised' to read as they are today. In most of the lists, however, the original spelling has been retained - if you are researching one such list it can take quite a bit of time to find the name that MIGHT be there. No doubt some researchers may think this practice is wrong, but it has been adopted with the interests of newer researchers in mind - as I say above, check the source. Your Internet browser will have the facility to 'FIND ON THIS WEBPAGE' (Ctrl + F with I.E.) and you should use this to allow you to FIND a name or place - remember various spellings - best to search for just 2 or 3 letters of a name for variations - have a look at the entries for examples of just how varied the spellings are to what we would expect, particularly from the older documents. Look for other possible entries (in Monikie -probable entries!) for names and addresses on THIS website using the Website Search Engine provided.
The original sources of the information on my lists includes Old Parochial Records, Census Records and my own family research as otherwise stated, but other sources have been used and cross-linked in some cases.
Some of these lists can take a quite a while to download.
If your Internet browser FONT settings are set at Larger or Smaller this may produce a list with the columns out of alignment - try resetting the font size, or 'Copy & Paste' the list, only, into another software application. You should always used a fixed pitch font, such as COURIER NEW, in order to regain proper column spacing.
